New Year's Day 2008

With most of autumn and early winter being a time of sickness and getting behind on our schedule, we didn't get to all of our Advent readings and Jesse Tree. Hopefully next Christmas season will be different. We don't start up school until January 7 so I have a few more days of recuperating. I'm starting to feel better and the sinus congestion is slowly becoming less of a problem. I was digging through some of the old post cards my m-i-l gave me and found this 1908 post card that was sent to her father for New Year's. What happened 100 years ago today? The New York Times Square Ball was dropped for the first time.

Ring out the old, ring in the new
Ring, happy bells, across the snow:
The year is going, let him go;
Ring out the false, ring in the true.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson~ 1850

This is a free image from my personal collection. It's free to download and you may use it in your art only, NOT for Sale on a Collage Sheet or a CD.

 If you use this vintage post card for any personal art or art projects for sale, please, make a reference back to me here at my altered heART works blog New Year's Day 2008

If you use it I would love to see what you make. :-)
