My second crochet flower: "Peony 2"
My neighbors and I enjoy sharing and trading plants from our gardens. A neighbor gave me a start of her Peony some ten years ago and it grows in my backyard. The picture below was taken in the spring of 2007 -- the inspiration for my crochet flowers:

"The actual flower is the plant's highest fulfillment, and are not here exclusively for herbaria,
county floras and plant geography: they are here first of all for delight."
~John Ruskin~
I agree with Ruskin about "delight." Both your flowers are lovely. I wish I could crochet. If I could I'd make tiny flowers for crafting. Maybe in heaven I'll have someone to teach me. I'm a real hands on sort, rather than book learner.
ReplyDeleteHey, got your badge on my site. Woohoo!
Hugs, Coleen
Thank you for your kind words and for the badge exchange! :-) My Mom, Grandma, and Aunt all taught me how to crochet when I was younger but I've only started to do it again just recently.
DeleteDo you have a pattern for your lovely peony?
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel,
DeleteI did write down my pattern but I have to review it and work another Peony to see if I think it's correct and understandable. Although I understood what I was crocheting/writing I'm not sure it's explained well for publicizing.
Thank you for visiting! :-)
